I got these shoes at the Gap Outlet last year for a somewhat sensible price. Imagine my surprise when I just recently discovered that they are, in fact, Pierre Hardy for Gap. Who knew?

Though I love them, I hardly wear these sandals because they make me feel like a transvestite. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I suppose the leg hair only adds to the androgeny.

Dear Nala,

Hmm. That "transvestite" comment is rather curious. I suppose the straps have a masculine styling, kinda, and if the shoes were flat they would have a unisex quality. (How's that: unisex rather than transvestite, and assuming that men could wear heals without looking like they're trying to look like women?)
Maybe you wouldn't feel like a transvestite if you wore a thin, girly anklet. Something dainty to contrast with the robust character of the sandals. Just a thought, offered for whatever it's worth.
Anyway, the sandals ARE very nice. They are chock-full of ass-kickery. Seriously. They say, "don't mess with me" but in a flirty and feminine kind of way.
I do not get a man in woman garb feeling from the shoes at all.=) I have missed so many posts on your blog. My summer was so busy and hectic. I will not go on to be a comment whore.=)
