New, Used, and Undue

I suppose that you could guess that my new year's resolution is to update this blog more often...

Happy happy New Year!

I usually go all-out on New Year's with a new dress, millions of sequins and fake eyelashes. This year, though, we had no real plans and were going to simply wander around our new town. So, I didn't purchase a new gown but did don one of my favorite garments ever.

I love this dress so much that I originally took approx. 928 pictures of it. I drastically cut back the number of images just for you. You're welcome.

I went with a simple sequined headband and a few select rhinestones on the chest area...

Little Girl with a Little Curl
I'll give you a moment to absorb this picture. Okay. For my new job, I went on a retreat with the leadership of our association. As a little "getting to know you" exercise, we all participated in a murder mystery dinner in which all of us were fictional and fairytale characters.

Little Girl with a Little Curl
I was the Little Girl with the Curl. I had never heard of it either so the nursery rhyme is below.

There was a little girl
Who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead.
And when she was good
She was very, very good...

Little Girl with a Little Curl
...But when she was bad
She was horrid!

Little Girl with a Little Curl
By the way, Cinderella did it.

dress - Eclectiques on High Street in Columbus
I can't remember the origin of the rest of the gear. I'm sorry.

My Mom used to say that poem to me. Of course I have curly hair, as a little kid usually had a curl in the middle of my forehead too. Love your NYE dress so flapperistic!

I love both outfits, but especially the little girl with the curl one. (I have curly hair, and the nursery rhyme pretty much describes me, so my parents called me the little girl with the curl sometimes.)

I've always had curly hair, so I know that poem because my parents used to say it about me all the time. And they wonder why I turned out the way I did.
You are lovely as always!
